Research and development for investing in the future
IEMA is always looking for new working methods and new technologies to improve production performance, reducing times and ensuring a constant quality standard.

Sharing our skills in the field and close collaboration with the academic sphere are features of the IEMA research and development philosophy, with the dual objectives of obtaining a new competitive edge over our competitors and training the new highly specialized workforce.

Active on several different fronts, IEMA looks towards the future with optimism, constantly investing resources and energy to create a new highly skilled workforce backed up by competitive working methods:

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

IEMA ACADEMY
IEMA makes a priority of training and preparation of their new personnel, with specific skill-sets.

The IEMA ACADEMY project translates the corporate vision into a concrete training laboratory, where young people at the conclusion of their studies can learn new concepts and how to use tools to give them concrete preparation to enter the world of work.
The objective of the course is to accompany young human resources from the academic world into the world of work, providing concepts and specific skills to help their knowledge to take shape.

The training specifically focuses on the use of software for designing electrical systems, a sought after skill in the sector.

IEMA ACADEMY is an opportunity for learning and growth with the objective of definitive insertion into the workforce of the IEMA Group companies.

IEMA ACADEMY

Cooperation with the academic world
Since 2016 IEMA has cooperated with the University of Bologna and the Seconda University of Naples in the development of a 100% Italian research project entitled WIRES – WIring Robotic SystEm for Switchgears,  within the European platform ECHORD++, in the scope of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union.

The team of researchers is working to reach the objective of automation of the wiring process on electrical panels  through the development of a software package and dedicated robotic system.

The software would extracts and optimize the information necessary for the wiring sequence directly from the electrical panel design, interfacing with the company’s IT infrastructure. The robot is composed of an industrial manipulator fitted with instruments used in the connection and layout of wires, and is guided by information provided by the software component.

The automation process for wiring of electrical panels was founded on the idea of optimizing production costs and times for electrical panels, staying competitive on the market, offering customers and even better product, with constant high quality standards, to continue the growth process at IEMA, not only in terms of business volume, but also in terms of our commitment.
